Mary Jo has worked with Upward Bound in a professional capacity since February of 1998 and was made Associate Director in 2005. Prior to her full-time work with the program, she worked with UB in various summer and academic year positions since her first year as a Tutor-Counselor in the summer of 1992.
During the academic year, Mary Jo supervises the program's Academic Advisors, plans the Enrichment Activities for the Manchester area, and is the UB Advisor for students at Manchester Memorial and Central High Schools. During the summer program, she is responsible for the academic and counseling components.
Mary Jo has a B.A. in English Teaching and an M.A. in English Literature, both from the University of New Hampshire. Her professional interests include college counseling for non-native English speakers. She serves on the Executive Committee for the New Hampshire Educational Opportunity Association and is on the Board of Directors for the New England Educational Opportunity Association.
