College Visits
Sign-ups for college trips are on a first-come, first serve basis. Preference is given to UB juniors and to UB seniors who are applying to one of these schools yet haven't visited. Please call or e-mail Laura Pellerin at the UB office ASAP to let us know if you want to attend a college trip.

SAT Registration Deadlines & Test Dates (2007-2008)

September 10: Registration Deadline for SAT on October 6

October 2: Registration Deadline for SAT on November 3

October 30: Registration Deadline for SAT on December 1

December 26: Registration Deadline for SAT on January 26

January 29: Registration Deadline for SAT on March 1

April 1: Registration Deadline for SAT on May 3

May 6 : Registration Deadline for SAT on June 7

UNH Upward Bound requires that all students take the SAT Reasoning Test (SAT I) in May or June of their Junior year, and again in October or November of their Senior year. College Board SAT fee waivers are available through UB for all active UB juniors and seniors.

 

UB Winter Reunion
Saturday, January 12, 2008 All Upward Bound students, staff and alumni are invited to attend. There will be a financial aid workshop for interested parents/guardians of UB students.

 

Senior Workshop
Monday, October 8 (the Columbus Day holiday) 9-4:00 in Durham. Transportation is not provided, but free parking is available to seniors attending the workshop on campus. All seniors were sent a mailing with full details. All seniors are required to attend this workshop focused on SAT preparation, college essays, college research and college applications.

 

National TRIO Day
February 21& 22, 2008. The State of Massachusetts is hosting New England's National TRIO Day celebration this year. About seven Upward Bound students will have the opportunity to attend this event during which they will visit a college in Massachusetts, stay at a hotel, meet students from other TRIO programs in New England, participate in a college fair, and rally in support of educational opportunity programs. Contact Robinson House if you are interested in attending.

 

Summer Program Orientation
Saturday, May 17. Students and Parents/guardians, particularly of new students, are strongly encouraged to attend Orientation sessions.

 

Junior Workshop
During April vacation. All juniors are required to attend this workshop focused on SAT preparation, the college admissions process, and planning for the upcoming summer.

 

College Fairs
All juniors and seniors are strongly encouraged to attend college fairs in their area to learn about colleges across the U.S. and Canada.

Southern New Hampshire University: 7:00-9:00 pm on Tuesday October 2 and 9:00-11:30 am on Wednesday October 3

University of New Hampshire Lundholm Gym: 7:00-9:00 pm on September 27 and 9:00-11:30 am on September 28
